Vehicle Return & Cancellation Policy

 

At Audi Kitchener-Waterloo, we are committed to transparent and compliant vehicle sales practices in accordance with Ontario regulations and the standards set by the Ontario Motor Vehicle Industry Council. 

No Cooling-Off Period 

Under Ontario law, there is no cooling-off period for motor vehicle purchases or leases. Once a purchase or lease agreement is signed and you take possession of the vehicle, it is final and legally binding. 

Contract Finality 

By signing a bill of sale or lease agreement, the customer agrees to proceed with the transaction under the terms outlined. We strongly encourage all customers to carefully review all documentation prior to signing. 

Cancellation Eligibility 

A vehicle purchase agreement may only be cancelled under limited circumstances, including: 

  • If a condition written into the contract is not met (e.g., financing approval, inspection clause) 

  • If the dealer has failed to meet certain legal disclosure requirements under the Motor Vehicle Dealers Act (MVDA) 

  • In cases involving unfair or deceptive practices, as defined under the Consumer Protection Act 

In specific disclosure-related cases, consumers may have up to 90 days from delivery to cancel the agreement. 

Deposits 

  • If a deposit is placed without a signed contract, it is fully refundable upon request. 

  • If a deposit is placed after signing a contract, it may be subject to forfeiture or retained as part of liquidated damages if costs were incurred by the dealer to secure and hold the vehicle, as well as an installed accessories that were part of the agreement. These costs must be provided in writing to the customer when indicating why part or all of the deposit is not refundable. 

Returns & Exchanges 

Audi Kitchener-Waterloo does not offer vehicle returns or exchanges once a vehicle has been delivered, except where required by law due to disclosure requirements.

If you have concerns regarding your purchase, we encourage you to contact our team directly. Customers may also contact OMVIC for guidance or to file a formal complaint regarding a registered dealer.
